Privacy

• Your name, email, and password (hashed — I never see or store the actual password)
• The year you were born — just to check you're old enough to sign up (CheckMeOut is 16+); not a full date of birth
• Body photos you upload, so you can try clothes on
• Your fit profile, if you fill it in — sizing category, sizes, height, and body measurements (bust or chest, waist, hip, inseam)
• Posts you create — photos, captions, prices, buy links, and whether the post is private
• The try-on images generated from your photos
• Your activity — likes, ratings, comments, buy-or-pass votes, who you follow, and who you block
• Reports and feedback you submit
• Your email address or IP address, briefly, to limit repeated log-in, sign-up and password-reset attempts — these are short-lived records that expire on their own

Mostly to run the app: show your posts, remember your sizes, and let you try things on. I also use it to keep the app safe — for example, to stop abuse and to review reports.

Your body photo and a garment photo are sent to Fashn AI, a third-party virtual try-on service, every time you try something on — that's the only way that feature works, and it's the most sensitive sharing this app does. Fashn is a UK company. Its documentation says it doesn't use what you send to train its models, and that the images it generates are deleted from its systems after three days. I keep a copy of each result so it shows up in your try-ons.

If you click “Find it” or “Find similar for less,” your browser sends that item's photo to Google Lens to search for it. This only happens when you click — it's Google's page you land on, not something I do server-side.

The law says I need a reason for each way I use your data. Mine are:

• To provide the app you signed up for— your account, posts, sizes, follows, comments and try-ons, including sending your photos to Fashn when you tap “Try it on” and emailing you a password-reset link when you ask for one. I need to do these things to give you the service (the legal term is “contract”).
• To keep the app safe and working— limiting repeated log-in attempts, reviewing reports, suspending accounts that break the rules, spotting errors, counting page views, and keeping a record that you agreed to the Terms. This is my legitimate interest in running a safe, reliable service. You can object to it — see “Your choices and rights” below.
• To meet legal obligations— for example, if I'm legally required to keep certain records or to respond to a lawful request.

• Public postsshow your name, photos, and caption to other members — and to anyone who has the link, even if they're not logged in. Link previews (for example when someone shares a post) show them too.
• Private posts can only be seen by you.
• People who follow you— once you've approved their request — can see the try-on images you generate on posts.
• Your body photos and fit profile are only visible to you (and go to Fashn when you try something on).
• You can block someone; you then disappear from each other completely.
• Your photos are stored privately and shown through links that expire within a couple of hours, so an old link to one of your images stops working.

These companies handle data for me so the app works. Some are US companies, so your data may be processed outside the UK.

• Fashn AI, to generate your try-on images
• Turso, who host the database (in Ireland)
• Cloudflare, who store your uploaded and generated images
• Vercel, who host the site and count page views for me — no cookies, no names, just aggregate traffic (which pages, roughly where from, what device)
• Resend (EU region), who send my password-reset emails — just your email address and a reset link
• Sentry (EU region), if I've got error reporting turned on — it receives technical details of an error (what broke and where), never your photos, messages, cookies, or account details
• Google, only when you click a “Find it” link (see above)

I don't sell your data, and I don't share it with anyone else.

One cookie: the one that keeps you logged in. It's needed for the app to work. I don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

• Your account data and photos stay until you delete them or your account.
• When you delete your account, your data is removed from the database and your stored images are deleted, including try-on images other people generated on your posts.
• Photos you uploaded but never used in a post are cleared out automatically within a day or so.
• Password reset links expire after an hour.

• Edit or replace your body photos and fit profile any time from your profile page
• Delete any post you've made, any time
• Delete your whole account from your profile page — it takes your photos, posts, and activity with it
• Email me to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to restrict or object to how I use it, or to have it in a portable form. I'll reply within a month.
• If you're not happy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

• Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text
• Password reset links are single-use, hashed, and expire in an hour
• Images are stored privately and only shown through expiring links
